ApolloIM vs. Mobile Chat
Which do you prefer? ApolloIM or MobileChat...
Both are cool, I'm digging the UI of MobileChat and the ability to go away, but the suspend and notification support in Apollo is pretty nice too.
They are both pretty new so it may be too early to tell, but what do you all prefer? and Why?"The glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time you fall."

Im not going to really use mChat until it stoes my account info at the very least. Since it doesnt suspend your activity I'm not about to retype my info each time I go away.

Can we get any replies or info to which one drains the battery less? That would be the one i would use.

I want them combined. Neither uses libpurple yet. Mobilechat has better interface. Apollo is further along

Appollo is currently my fav because it has more features especially the save account info option. But I think it is definitly too early to see which will be the best one. Maybe they should merge and make a really good app.

i voted for apollo, but i'm pulling for mChat. i dig the look and feel of it mChat...but apollo seems quicker on transferring the chats and seems more stable as of now. so, i'll keep using apollo until they fix some stuff in mChat.

Neither work for me. When I connect, it shows one or two buddies. If any (usually it shows none).

good list of improvements, im going to add to it:
-friendlier user interface (like text messaging ala Mobile Chat)
-more organized buddy list
-nicknames to replace buddies screen names
BTW, the dev's at ApolloIM are very receptive to user input so feel free to post your issues/ bugs/ reccomendations at http://code.google.com/p/apolloim/
They show how many buddies you have online at the time, maybe everyone is asleep or at work?Last edited by lifesmymachine; 09-04-2007 at 06:05 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

You sure they're all under your AIM account? Like for me, I have a lot of folks plugged in under my .mac account, and some under my AIM account, but if I sign on under my AIM via BeeJive or whatever, all those folk plugged in under my .Mac account don't show up.

They definitely are. This isn't a problem of me doing something stupid, it seriously just doesn't work for me. Wifi vs EDGE doesn't make any difference (other than signing on under EDGE will kick my laptop's Adium offline whereas on wifi it doesnt).
On AIM, I see..6 people online from my laptop. Opening ApolloIM shows none of them. It just shows one random person, and he's not even online. If people IM me, then it shows them on my buddy list (but their icons are red as if they're offline).

Hmm. Who knows then, working fine for many! Hopefully an update will fix the issue for you. Perhaps a simple uninstall and reinstall?
