yep I agree. Mobilechat works flawlessly for me and stays connected, at least on edge (haven't tried wifi since I use my comp at home). I like the balloons too.

The new version is very nice. Now I just need it to notify me when certain buddies sign on, and the recieved messages should show up on the unlock screen like SMS messages and phone calls

mobilechat doesnt stay on for me...i dont know why...i've tried it at home with wifi and still doesnt stay online

im guessing there is no way to change the sound files in mobilechat? i can barely hear it when i get a new im.

  5. #45
scroll up about 4 posts and see my post explaining the sound files location. I changed mine for the same reason.too low.

I have a problem connecting with mobile chat sometimes. It doesnt always work for me on edge. Strange thing is it works fine for me with Apollo IM.

If i open Apollo IM first and then i try to open mobile chat it will connect through edge, but it wont work if i just open mobile chat first. Very wierd and annoying because i like mobile chat a lot more than Apollo.

I don't know how any of you guys use mobile chat. The scrolling issue completely blows. Seems like it would be such an easy and basic thing to fix. Until they get that fixed I will stick with ApolloIM.

It's in my installer.app. Have you installed "Community Sources"?

I don't have an account to test this, but MobileChat's app has an option for .Mac when you create a new account. You should try this out.

Anyone with a .Mac try this yet?

When you touch the .Mac account it gives you a popup saying it's not implemented yet

ApolloIM 1.0 with a single AIM account crashes for me right after signon on EDGE. Doesn't do it on WIFI.

I'm on Tmob, 19.99 internet plan...

    hmm..

yea i cant get 1.0 to work properly either, ive gotten all of the past versions to work well, but this one says it cannot connect to the authentication server every time, wifi or edge

Apollo 1.0 works fine for me
    I am the MacBook Pro

Just a bug to those having issues with Apollo on EDGE. If you have wifi turned on, but are only connected via EDGE, it'll return a bunch of errors. Just turn wifi off and you're good.
That said I'm loving Apollo, but it needs hyperlink support and a Preferences menu so you can play with alerts and such. It also eats up battery life a mofo on standby.

Same with me. I have a hotmail account and two Aim accounts. Anytime I tried to log into AIM via Edge the program crashes, I guess, and takes me to the main springboard screen. If I log into just my hotmail account it works fine (over Edge). It works flawlessly through Wifi though.

Good thing I was able to make an icon for JivetTalk on my springboard. Now that's a mobile chat applet. I will have no problems paying for JiveTalk once they get out of their beta stage.
