hiding background app
I was wondering if there was some kind of "process manager" that I could use to see what programs are running.
I have a feeling I have a program that's running in the background, because my phone battery is dying way too fast. I don't feel like doing a full restore unless I have to.
If anyone know of a way to check out whats running in the background, please let me know.
Thankswwjd

wish i could help skb, but unfortunately unless you are on 1.1.4, I don't believe there is an app on 2.x that shows the processes running. On 1.1.4 the program was called sysinfo. but I do not believe it has been ported to 2.x yet...
However there is an app called KillMe.app that is a command line app that lets you type in an app or process and shut it down. but unfortunately, unless you know the name of the app or process, its kinda useless.
I know this was probably not what you wanted to hear... but i hope it helps.8Gig > 1.0 FW (dead spot on screen)

cant you just restart the phone to stop it? or uninstall and reinstall backgrounder?

Backgrounder has been a godsend for some and a nightmare for others. Personally I had to do a restore because it slowed my apps, ate hell of a lot of battery life, showed notifications on Cydia, Installer, BEEJIVE, APP STORE and many more with 0's. Ppl say updates are available to resolve such issues but personally, i would just do a restore. Not the answer you might be looking for but you will be happy you did it at the end.

To see what processes are running in the background you can use the Terminal app from cydia, then get the top application... Run Terminal then type top... It will show you what processes are currently running on the phone.

I am not quite sure if I am doing something wrong... I would also like to know what applications are running... when in mobile terminal, under "localhost: ~ mobile$" do i type "top"??? to see the applications running... i cannot get it to work. it just says "-sh: top: command not found" i also tried typing in top application and it still gives same command not found.
I would REALY like to figure this out... with some ones help of coarse.
Cheers.
