Issue with Dock Prefs 3.2 program
Hello All,
I have a little issue with the Dock Prefs 3.2 program and was wondering if anyone else has seen this before. I have a 1st gen iphone with 2.1 that is jailbroken.
Dock prefs works great on the phone ( it is a really cool program) but for some reason the camera, ipod, and photos will not show up when i use it. The camera, ipod, and photos works but not from dock prefs. I can put them in the categorize apps when you are setting the program up but no matter which category i put them in they do not actually show up. All my other programs do though....
Anyone have any idea about this? I couldn't find anything on the forum about it.... Thanks...."It is Our Light, Not Our Darkness That Most Frightens Us"

Ah, i had this same problem last week! So if i had to guess what was going on i'd say you went into boss prefs (or just used poof to hide those 3 apps). To have them show up using dock just go into dockprefs and switch "show hidden apps" (the 4th toggle down) to "on". Reboot and you should be good!
Hope that helps!

Thanks for the info Ksay315 but i have already tried that. It did not seem to work for me. If i unhide those three apps then they show up in dockprefs.... When i try rehiding them then they no longer show up. Still not sure why....

I still have not been able to figure this out. I did a complete restore on my iPhone but still when i hide the apps with Poof and then try to see them in DockPrefs they do not show up. Setting in DockPrefs is to show hidden apps but still NG.

I think it has something to do with the fact that camera app and potos app are both actually mobileslideshow.app and ipod is actually mobilemusicplayer.app.
It's not really a bug, but something that the dev Nate True probably oversaw or just couldn't figure out.
It's a shame, that he seems to have stopped working on this.
Dock & Quickgold are by far my favorite tools.
Launch your first app from quickgold, and from there you just switch from app to app with dock. And with backgrounder installed, this is like switching from space to space on leopard! (Well kinda... but still hot enuff!)
You could do what I did: install Stacks and put those apps in there, so you can always quicklaunch them without having them clogging up your springboard. You'll still have the problem with dock not showing those apps.
Or you could just terrorize Nate True on his blog or twitter or whatever and get him to further develope this
Actually this seems to be the best plan!

Thanks Enkidu... I am not going to bother Nate True but maybe ill just work around it. Its more of an inconvenience than anything else. I will check out those other programs you mentioned though...

No biggie! And by the way, you should really update to 2.2!
I'm gonna try to contact Nate True and beg him to continue working on Dock myself and I encourage everyone to do the same, to make sure this wonderful app won't get lost, just cos the majority of users seem not to get how useful this app is.
So off to Nate True's blog!

I did update to 2.2 just didn't update my profile... I installed Quickgold and that program is awesome. Maybe i will get in touch with Nate True just to pass along the message that it is a great program that should not be forgotten about....

I dunno if anyone else has run into this, I just updated 3.40, and it stopped working, I used to have it so the glow line wasn't visible, so I would just go the right bottom corner, wait a sec and my contact quick menu to come up and nothing. So I went into the options and turned it on(the glow), restarted and rebooted the phone. Now I can see the glow line but neither quick launch area works.,. anyone one else had this happen?

I don't have that problem after the update. Works as usual.
What I did notice was an annoying lag, while scrolling through my apps in Dock.
Seems like the app got itself some new bugs with the latest update.
Hopefully these issues will be fixed soon!

So now it kinda works - if I uninstall it and then reinstall install it i can get basic functionality(glow line, main list of apps) but no quick launch corners.and if I actually go into the settings and checnge anything BOOM - no workie, nothing will work anymore. Love the app(this plus categories make organization so much easier)

these were the bugs that made me uninstall it. i liked it, but the preferences (especially hot corners stuff) never worked as advertised.
