Epocrates Rx for iphone 1st gen
Hi,
I'm a med student and need to know if there's a way to get the Epocrates Rx program on an iPhone 1st gen, version 1.1.4? I know it's available on the app store for the 3G iPhone, but is there a way to get it on my 1.1.4 phone? That's the only thing it is missing, and I don't have the money to switch to the 3G!
Thanks a lot for any info/links

You know, if you just upgrade your firmware to 2.0 or later....you will have the AppStore, no need for a 3g to do that.

So its been "unlocked" in other words. Well, you "can" unlock firmware versions 2.0, 2.0.1, 2.0.2 and 2.1
If you wanna spend alittle time messing with it. However, that would be the only way of getting an app off the appstore.

Thanks for the info.
I've not been on an iPhone modding forum since I unlocked my 1st gen more than 6 months ago. Just to be sure: I can use itunes to upgrade my 1st gen unlocked phone to 2.0, and then search around for a way to jailbreak and unlock that version?
Thanks again.

Sure thing. Might as well go with 2.1, newest and in my opinion best firmware. Do your research before you upgrade so you dont get into a bind.
All in all, its not hard. Basically you have a choice of using "Pwnage" (MacOS) or "quickpwn" (WinPC)....or downloading an already compiled custom firmware 2.1 and stabbing it onto the iphone through Itunes.
Basically, after that you will need to go through and edit your data settings like you did before, etc, etc.
Check out the jailbreaking/unlocking forum.
