Reboot often or get App Crashes in 2.1
|
I just wanted to see how many other people out there are dealing with this on the 2.1 firmware. Ever since the release of 2.0, the iphone OS has been woefully unstable. After upgrading to 2.0, my iphone would crash nearly everytime I used the mobile appstore to download applications. When that happened, the only way to get my phone back up and running was to do a complete restore, which took nearly 3 hours to complete. This happened to me countless times, and I was about ready to throw my iphone against a brick wall.
Well then finally, Apple released the 2.1 software update. This update has addressed many other problems I was having since 2.0's initial release, but I have now found that I have to reboot my iPhone at least once a day or my applications become virtually unusable.
Here is what I have experienced. If I have not rebooted my iphone in the past day or so, many applications will crash repeatedly. This happens with Mail, Safari, Cydia, Cycorder, and applications I purchased from the Appstore. For example, Mobile Safari is basically unusable until I reboot my phone. I will load up a web page, and once I start scrolling around the page, the app closes and dumps me back to the main screen, try again with the same results. The time which it takes for the app to crash seems to vary depending on the application, but it is happening in just about every application I use.
Has anyone else experienced this? More importantly, has anyone found a fix????
Thanks
Bump!
