It' s impossible to have exchange (mail, contacts, calendar) sync to my 1st Gen iPhone (2.1, jailbrn, unlocked with Pwnage).
I did everything right (with the company's IT support).
After my account verification, when I'm trying to connect via mail app I'm getting the "Cannot Connect to the server" message.
I also changed (via ssh) the rights to 777 to the mail.app folder to the phone.
Any ideas please?

change the permissions back. Mail needs to be owned by mobile, so you can use it when you're on your phone. I can't say anything about the exchange issue, but mail will not function with those permissions.
