SMS privacy app?

Seeing as Kate doesn't seem to work on 2.1 does anyone know if there is an app out there which blocks (or just puts 'Text Message') or stops your SMSs from appearing on the home screen?

I hate it when I'm showing someone something on my phone and a message pops up! I'm just worried one day it'll be something really embarrassing from my girlfriend or something haha

Fingers crossed this hasn't happened yet.

So yeah, anyone know?

I use Kate and it works just fine.. I'm not sure who told you it didn't work but I've always had Kate and it has never stopped working

Same I have Kate installed on 2.1 works just fine for me

PYSL (available for free on Cydia) does an excellent job of this. I can't speak for the other apps, but PYSL enables me to have, as the only indication of a new SMS, an increase in the number of new messages on the SMS badge. No buzz, no sound, no popup.

THis is the only thing for which I use PYSL, so i can't speak to its extended functionality.

PYSL works good for this. Only problem I am having with it is that it will not let me change my text sound to anything other than the default one.
