[RELEASED] KeyVib
This application was released on Cydia today Sept. 6. It gives a vibration feedback similar to the Voyager on Verizon when typing in Safari, texting, etc. It's great idea and it works great, however I was wondering if anyone has experienced major battery loss due to the app. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Does this also vibrate when the ringer is on silent? There's a HOW TO: that works but doesn't do it on silent, which is what i'm looking for.

Not a bad feature, but don't want to have the keyboard sound on.
Anyone have a problem trying to uninstall this app? Uninstalled it, but still works when changing the keyboard sound. And it still shows up in Poof.

I got keyboard vibrations on on firmware 1.1.4. keyboard clicks are independant and hence does not need to be on while keyboard vibrates.
I do quite a bit of messaging and mobile chatting using fring. have not noticed much change in battery life.
Just love background apps in 1.1.4. hope 2.0 gets this feature with my installer programs ported over with time.

After installing this app, I lost all phone sounds such as lock, unlock, texts. Tried uninstalling but still no sounds.
Anyone got a solution?

not working for me either, 2.0.2. Tried uninstalling reinstalling and keyboard clicks are on. Gonna SSH in and check dir perms.
SSh'ing in and setting 755 permissions on the directory and all files inside fixed it. Apparently the yes.vib file and a few others had wrong permissionsLast edited by tekwiz; 09-07-2008 at 10:25 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

not sure why everyone is having issues, it has worked great for me. Installed (via Cydia), restarted iPhone, launched the app, restarted iPhone and its been working since. I have seen no battery loss at all. Great app!

Works great for me. However, the app doesn't seem to be much of a toggle seeing as how it only turns it on and not off. Oh well, guess I'll leave it on for now, the haptic feedback is growing on me.

this app would be much better if it could work when phone is silent...
And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream!

Worked for me.
And yes, needs to work when the phone is silent - or more specifically, when key clicks are turned off.

Hey Guys,
Easy fix...
With 2.0.2, as far as I know, you cannot "turn off" keyboard sounds in settings and have the vibrations only. It will turn off the vibrations and the sounds alltogether as we all know.
I got around this by creating a 0.5sec "silent" sound with ToneFX Creator and inserted that as my keyboard sound. (obviously, this only works for people who are using ToneFX successfully)
There might be a quicker way but it works well, there is no lag whatsoever...
