Some people have reported success with restroring the phone first, then jailbreaking. Other people have reported working youtube with jailbreaking and NOT using the -a command to activate, then activate through Itunes. All seems spotty though and I dont use Youtube enough to screw with it at the moment, maybe if I get bored.

Here it is again, try these>>>

1. Download the lockdownd file from http://tinyurl.com/2o6kla

2. Download these three files http://www.macriot.com/support/thethreefiles.zip

3. Replace the lockdownd in /usr/libexec

4. Replace the three files in /var/root/Library/Lockdown/

5. Delete all files in the the ACTIVATION RECORDS FOLDER.

6. Restart your iphone

no need to change permission

Good luck

You might be doing it wrong, but try this:
delete the files in your activation records folder. after you've done that go into installer, i forgot the name of the source at the moment, but install youtube activation and restart your phone and it should work! it worked for me. i had the same problem as you and non of the methods work except for this one. hope this helps.

I have tried replacing files in Lockdown, as well as fixes from unlock.no and apfelphone. Here is what finally worked for me --

Restore to 1.1.3, and set up as a new phone-- do not recover your old settings/ files, etc. So make sure you've manually saved everything first. Then run ZiPhone -j and re-activate a/ iTunes. That's what worked for me. Hope it helps.

yes- restore to 1.1.3 and then run ZiPhone -j. Read the included documentation in ZiPhone first. It's not hard, I've had to go thru this several times before I got it right.

tomstrummer, i have the same problem using a ziphone to jailbreak and unlocked my 1.1.3 OTB with a t-mobile sim, i can't get youtube to work. my question is, if i restore to 1.1.3 will i still have the unlock or do i use ziphone to activate, jailbreak and unlock again? i know jailbreaking and activating will be fine but i'm confused if i can unlock it using ziphone again or do i use anysim 1.1.3 since the bootloader was changed to 3.9 during ziphone's unlocking method. i guess worse case scenario, i can just do a complete restore using ziphone then -a, -j, -u again but that will bring me back to not having youtube work again...damn...so frustrating.

Did this and so far it's done nothing but brick my iPhone. Can't even restore or DFU the damn thing. Just a heads up to everyone
