Just got Kate installed and was messing around with it only to find out it's not a free app, ok I can deal with that, but then I see that you have to buy a subscription... starting at 20 bucks for 6 months, 35 for 12 and 45 for "unlimited". Are they nuts? While I appreciate the work they are doing that pricing seems insane for what it provides, especially considering it requires you to jailbreak the phone.
Are there other reasonable options that will let you do things like change the Springboard wallpaper without having to load Winterboard? That's all I'm really looking for at this point I'm assuming not, at which point I'll go with Winterboard before I pay Ripdev that kind of money for a "tweaker" app.
Winterboard is by far the best solution. If you want to just simply change Springboard wallpaper or you want to mod many many things, Winterboard is the most powerfull losing app there is available and on top of that it's free and will always be maintained.

I probably need to read up on Winterboard. I haven't seen how to customize, other than installing pre-made themes, but that's probably from lack of research

KATE - Subscription insanity?
