Mail.app on 2.0.2

hey all my fellow MMiers I'm having a problem with my mail.app on my 1st gen running 2.0.2 it keeps saying cannot get mail "the username or password for "XXXXXXX" is incorrect." and I dont want to restore/JB and do all my personalization again. Anyone know a way I can fix this without restoring?

Navigate to /var/Keychains and set permission to the Keychains folder to 777. That should take care of it.

I'm having the same issue, can you help me with specifics? What does it mean 'navigate to'? How do I do that?
