    Default WeTool Crashes Instantly (1.1.3)

I would love to be able to use weTool again, it is a great program. However, I cannot use it. Whenever I try to open it, the program crashes. The same goes for CallD and SMSD. I would love to be able to use any of these again. I have tried changing permissions with mobilefinder and WinSCP. I've also did the the downgraded to 1.1.1 and re-jailbroke the phone and upgraded back up to 1.1.3 a few times. I've searched through the forums but I didn't find mention of what it could be. Does anyone know what else I can try?

I am on AT&T locked running firmware 1.1.3 jailbroken and upgraded with the Dev Team upgrade.

Once again I'm having the same problem...glad to know I'm not the only one missing WeTool......I've always used it on previous firmwares and had become addicted to its usefulness. I even attempted to install from the Weiphone source, but it hasn't been upgraded to work with 1.1.3 obviously.....hopefully there will be a fix, patch, or upgrade soon. I see the other programs do similar things, but weTool conveniently combines text and calls all into one.

The problem is a general issue on migrating applications from <1.1.2 to 1.1.3

to solve the weTool issue (as many other applications) simply create symlinks as follows:

    ln -s /var/mobile/Library/CallHistory /var/root/Library/
    ln -s /var/mobile/Library/SMS /var/root/Library/

Would you be so kind as to dumb it down a bit? Thanks. I"m not familiar with symlinks. I apologize for the lack of knowledge in the area. I've learned a world of stuff in about 72 hours and am still trying to absorb. Thanks again.

    ln -s /var/mobile/Library/SMS /var/root/Library/
I tried that, created the two symbolic links but it made not difference

I will try to re-install the program after rebooting and with the symbolic links already in place but

Nope - no luck with that either

I also changed permission to the files *.db to 666 from 644 but made no difference.

you also have to create a symlink for the address book, same way as the callhistory and sms. This worked for me. But i cant seem to delete sms using wetool. Anyway its still better than nothing.

    try to change this permission:

    chmod 777 /var/root/Library
    chmod 777 /var/root/Library/Preferences

the steps to create those symlinks are:

    1) install BSD subsystem and OpenSSH

    2) check the ip the iphone got from your wireless network (when you got on the wireless network push the small button on the right next to the wireless name)

    3) downlod putty

    4) connect to the ip you previosly checked (using ssh)

    5) username: root - pwd: alpine

    6) copy and paste the 2 lines witht he symlink
