Go to your settings ans scroll all the way to the bottom. Rip Dev Prefs. should be there and Kate's settings are in there

lol Sullivan0930 , KATE never ****** up my iphone ...
Most people get a ****** phone by using diffrent dock apps or apps that use same files after installing and get compatible errors ... try to understand how apps work before trying
If you use kate then use it with a license

You have to ensure the following is installed:
- Kate
- Rip Dev Preferences
- Mobile Enhancer
Once they are installed REBOOT dont respring your phone. Then check your settings. Rip Dev will be there at the bottom.
Kate is a GREAT program. Been using it for a while now and love it.

Kate is a good app. I have had it since it came out way back in the 2G 1.1.4 iphone days and I paid $45 for the unlimited license. The main reason I got it was for the facelift portion. Allows for 5 icon dock, reflective dock, icon label backgrounds in different colors, can change icon labels from black to white, and a few other things. However, with the newest update of kate I downloaded on 08/21/08 it will not let you use the facelift modifications as long as you have winterboard installed. The developer claims that it is not compatible, but I disagree because everything was working great together until I updated. If I have to choose between having the facelift option or having winterboard, winterboard wins hands down. The other options you have with kate like changing fonts, reminders for sms or voicemail, the lockscreen calendar are, in my opinion, definitely not worth what they are charging, especially since a lot of those options can be found free with other apps on cydia. But let me say again so I don't get misunderstood, it WAS a GREAT app before the developers decided to lock you out of the facelift option if you also have winterboard installed.

Ok i fixed the phone app crashing. All I had to do was go into the ripdev settings and disable the smart dail setting. this fixed the phone issue. Also I was not able to use facelift because I have winterboard. I had to ssh into my phone and delete the ripdev preferences folder from root/system

Uninstalled but yet there....
I too like sooooo many people had problems with apps crashing after installing Kate. Got it working though and I THINK it was because it conflicted with Customize, or Blue Digital dialer. After uninstalling them it suddenly worked and I could use everything as normal again, although I had uninstalled Kate and even Rep-dev Preferences....
Now I donīt dare to re-install them, at least not until the new Pwnage tool for the new update 2.0.2 is out.... Also, I suddenly canīt go to iTunes store or restore or anything in iTunes, so didnīt dare to even try that when Kate wasnīt working.
If anyone knows how to get rid of it without restore please do tell!
Iīm on 2.0.1, btw.
