Did you have it running on 2.0 or 2.0.1?

I have it running on 2.0.2, I reinstalled it a few times, and got it working. Although can't run facelift and winterboard at same time. Thats a shame!

my Kate works perfectly on 2.0.2 and did as well on 2.0.1. Make sure you install RIP Dev preferences as well as the mobile enhancer (believe that is what its called)

I dont have Winterboard installed anymore, although I did on 2.0.1 and it all worked fine.
I installed Winterboard first and it worked well and then when Kate came out I installed that, curious about how well they would work together. They seemed to work fine. I could change themes using both programs with no problems, but if I changed it in one program, I would have to change it back to the default iPhone them before I changed it using the other program. Make sense?
I decided to stick with Kate because I paid for it back in the 1.1.x days.

Cheers for the reply, yep as you say all worked aok on 2.0.1, I also installed them the way you did on both 2.0.1 & 2 when open Kate facelift on 2 the area is greyed out with a message "FaceLift is incompatible with Winterboard"
Maybe a fix or a work around may come out soon.

I HAD a perfectly functioning 3G 2.01 running Winterboard and Kate side-by-side with NO compatibility issues at all. That is why I was surprised when I updated to the most recent release of Kate and they locked me out of using the facelift option citing "compatibility" issues with Winterboard. What is even worse, there was no warning prior to the install that this was going to happen and to my knowledge there were not any new features added in the update. At least give me a warning page that there might be compatibility concerns and I should use both applications "at my own risk". But just give me the choice either way. I sent them an email basically saying what I have just said and asked them to either send me a link to the previous version, or submit a refund...because to be honest, everything but the 'facelift' option I can get through other FREE applications via cydia and there is noooo way I am giving up my Winterboard for just a few other very minor options. I encourage those of you out there that have also purchased a license (it's worth it for the FACELIFT option) and who are a little put-off by their recent update to email them your concerns as well.

^Agreed^ On every point you made! The only reason i purchased Kate was for the Facelift feature, now unable to use it.
Could you report back on what they come back to you with.
Cheers,
Nick.

Ditto!!!!
No warnig at all about the facelift feature being disabled in the update if used with winterboard. No idea as to why either as it worked without a problem for me.
Will email them my concerns also.

I got an answer back from them, although I should have been a bit more ranty! But i was in the reply.
Received 7.27pm Australian Time:
Just disable facelift module via Settings->RiP Dev->RiP Dev Products->Kate(click on text, not on arrow).

Hi,
I have just updated to the 2.0.2 iphone FW, and now I am unable to use
Facelift, along with Winterboard. The only reason i purchased Kate was
to use only this function, and now i can't. I am not going to run
without Winterboard, so could i have a link to the previous version
that worked on 2.0.1 fine with winterboard please.
Kind Regards,
Nick.

Well, I can't say that my response from them was much better. Here is the email that I received.
Hello,
Unfortunately, both programs have similar functions and a principle of work, they cannot be compatible. Can be in the future there will be a joint decision.

Seems like to me that this may be more 'politically' driven than actually 'compatibility' driven especially if you read into their last comment which said, "Can be in the future there will be a joint decision." And what does he mean, "...they cannont be compatible", that is funny because I had them both working just fine, so again makes me think there is some other motivation here. I am going to email them again because they basically didn't address my concerns and didn't respond to my request for a refund or link to previous version. It would be one thing if this were a FREE or cheap application, but when you fork over $45, crap like this shouldn't be going on.Last edited by dr33Rocks; 08-22-2008 at 06:51 AM.

You cant have winterboard installed and you have to have all of the other rip dev stuff installed too. Mines working perfectly on 2.0.2.

Yep that sounds like something going on between the 2 parties, and i dont see why users paying the HIGH fee have to suffer for it.
I also asked for a refund in my second email back to them as this is the only function i want to use, so if i cant use it, it is useless.

Hello,
In following updating we shall try to solve a problem of compatibility of these programs.
