Lockdown app. messed up iPhone, dont wanna restore again.
So i just downloaded this app called lockdown from cydia, set a password, and locked my SMS, Phone, and a couple other apps.
So i tapped SMS, unlocked it, and then my iPhone started to respring. Once it was done, SMS oppened up. I texted someone, and then hit the home button. But it went back to the original lock screen for lockedown, its a finder lock and a pair of keys, but it just stays there. I can't delete the app through SSH because i dont know what my iPhones IP adress is since i cant do anything.A Thanks is always nice =]

Well the something happened to me and if you have access to your router you can figure out your phone IP address. What helped me was that I had Intelliscreen and I had to unlock every app that I had locked (thank fully I had that installed and had access to each locked app). I could not SSH in because I had it turned off...BAD APP!!!!!!

Luckily I only locked one app. Which was an app I barely used. Didn't like how it worked and uninstalled with no problems.

Seriously, this is rubbish. My phone is totally locked, and can't use it for anything, and I only locked two apps. Take this piece of **** down Saurik.

I've locked my camera and photos apps with this app and now i cannot unlock them.
I can SSH in to the phone, cant seem to find the instructions on what to do after that though...
I want to unlock my apps...and remove this program

This happened to me too once, but what I did was power the phone off, then power back on and went straight to Lockdown and unlocked all apps. You shouldn't have to restore.

same thing here. I deleted through SSH but still had lock screen if you reboot your iphone you get about 5-10 seconds before it apears I managed to enter the app unlock phone and then other apps. I then uninstalled it quickly.
I even emailed develepers but got no reply. Someone needs to make Saurik aware of this, im sure he would take it down if he knew.
IphoneCrazy
P.S. Good luck sprting it by the way

The same thing hapenned to me too. But I could recover my apps by SSHing into my iPhone and mannually editing the plist file in the apps.
Here's what I did. Browse to Mail.app folder (/Applications/MobileMail.app).
Then edit the info.plist file to change the CFBundleExecutable key as follows :
Original value :
New Value :Code:key CFBundleExecutable string Lock
Code:key CFBundleExecutable string MobileMail
And you are done
It still shows the Lockdown splash scrren while opening the app but it doesnt ask fot password anymore. Ive uninstalled Lockdown.app after that.Last edited by adeepak; 08-30-2008 at 05:54 PM.

Mine is working really well. I am really happy with it. This is one of the best app I found really useful. Even it has sbsettings lockdown working really well.

I got Lockdown Pro the day it came out, has worked fine on my iPhone 4 and my 3GS.
The only weird thing it does is, if the phone goes to sleep while a locked app is running, when you unlock, the app comes up and if you hit the cancel button when the password popup comes... the app still launches!
SO make sure you close or minimize your locked apps before your phone sleeps!
Are you guys maybe installing the old 3.0 version of Lockdown??Praise the Devs! To each and every one of you who spend your time writing code and making apps for little or no profit... Its YOU that makes the iPhone great, NOT Apple!! From me to you, a million thanks!!
