Google Maps: maptiles.sqlitedb resets itself

Hi all,

I have a 1st gen iPhone on 2.0. I love downloading map tiles in Maps.app as I hate the fog of war and always want a clear view of uncharted territories

But I keep finding that the MapTiles.sqlitedb file reset itself whenever it grows too big, and I have to start all over again. Super annoying!

This problem manifested in 1.1.4 as well. Does anyone have the same problem and is there a fix to this?
