HELP: Mobile Chat or Apollo won't work with EDGE but yes on WiFi ???
Hi guys.
I'm having a really strange problem. I have both Apollo and Mobile Chat. Both of these won't connect me to AIM or MSN. This is when I'm at home when I'm using EDGE. But when I'm in my office at work where there is WiFi it connects right away.
What could be the problem here ?
I'm with T-Mobile - using their T-Zones $5.99 data plan.
Thanks!

Apollo and Mobile chat do not work with the T-zone hack. That's the problem.
Even if you get the $19.99 plan they won't work. You need to ask for the $19.99 plan with VPN support. This allows the required ports for these apps to connect to services.- On T-mobile with 2.0 with help from Pwnage 2.0

Don't know. I have the 19.99 plan with VPN support so it works for me.
There is a good possibility that it could, as it is an official AIM app.
I don't think that T-zone is the problem. My brother has a Motorola Ming and he uses a third-party app for chatting through AIM/Yahoo/MSN and he has no issues connecting or chatting.
I'm not a coder but I believe these third-party apps (Apollo & MobileChat) are accessing the chat services through ports that T-zone has blocked (normally open on a Wifi connection. On specific GPRS chat programs these services are access through different ports which are open on the T-zone GPRS network.
My brother's Ming came with an official MSN chat client and he was also able to use that with his T-zone account.- On T-mobile with 2.0 with help from Pwnage 2.0
