Ok well i feel stupid now!

I tried updating to 1.1.3 and somehow when it restarted. it still ended up wit 1.1.2 AND all my icons are gone! all the ones that i had put into Categories... so basically every 3rd party program i had installed on the iphone is non visible! i can login with fugu but i have no idea what to do (sorry computer "stupid" here)

if anyone can help... thank you!

Hey Big Boss,

I am running Nate Trues 1.1.3 and installed Categories. I used the program to set up a number of categories. After a while I decided to delete the categories. After deletion of the Categories my springboard only shows the icons that were not in Categories. I have restarted the phone and still no programs.

I looked for the N45AP.plist in var/root/Library/Categories/ but the folder was empty except for a config.bin file. I have also checked the N45AP.plist in springboard and it only lists the programs that show on the springboard.

Is there another place where the a complete N4AP.plist is stored.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sorry if i posted in the wrong place, but i installed categories and then uninstalled it and when the springboard reset I lost the camera and photo icons only. Everything else works, I then reinstalled categories so I have it back on now. How do i get the two icons back on springboard. i am running jailbroken 1.1.3 FM. I am afraid to uninstall it again thinking that all icons might be gone. Please Help!

I'm no programmer and hardly to understand some terms you use here, I just wanna know how to paste my plist to the pastebin so the BigBoss and any experts out there can analyze what's wrong with my iPhone? Is that means I explore to plist on my iPhone using iBrickr, copy and paste it to pastebin? Help me please as I've waited almost a week to find a solution to get my iPhone working back. Please see the above link to understand my problem.

PLease help me. I downloaded this app, on my 1.1.4 jailbroke iphone, and made a games folder with no problem, but then made an applications folder, and added the categories app to it, and all the apps, including installer, are now gone... I have my games folder on my home screen, as well as all my others, but not my apps (Summerboard, installer, and many other) When i enter my games folder, and hit add, it shows me the application folder i made. But when i click on it, it kicks me out, and brings me back to my home screen. Please please please help me out, as i just got this phone, and really want to get this fixed. I have been trying for hours and hours, to no avail.... Again, please help.

big boss please help me!!!

im on 1.1.4 and jailbroken using ziphone. i installed categories and i wanted to go back to the normal setting and now im missing (installed) and (iphonerecorder).

i tried doing this... (If you have iphonebrowser installed copy /var/root/Library/Categories/N45AP.plist to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app overwriting the one in that folder. Restart your phone and you should have your original display back.) but i cant even see the categories folder?

how do i go back to how it was before?! can i just restore with itunes?

yes i am having the same problem as supremexjdm im trying to find the backed up version through ssh but categories has been removed from the directory var/root/Library/ so i cannot find the backup file. i have tried using the available stock M68AP.plist file but that hasn't worked... need help urgently please!

I also need to know whether it is the M68AP.plist that is the problem or the N45AP.plist? or even both?

I was actually following the instructions that were posted on how to configure the smb theme VistaPerfection 2.0 (which tells you to make up a range if different categories and put most of your apps into them.) After i did that all was fine except my games category folder was gone. so i decided not to bother with any category folders and went into categories and deleted all the apps out of the folders and then all the folders themselves. the actual categories app was in one of those folders so i'm thinking thats why i cant see it in the directory. i also may have played around with some of the configuration settings in categories to see if i could make the games folder appear but that didn't work so this may have also changed the 'allow hidden icons' (not sure if that's exactly what it's called) option and possibly even the botton option about the .plists.

I really just want everything back to normal please answer urgently thanks again.

I tried Categories, didnt like it and so removed it... now its hidden my Photos application and possibly more I cant remember... how can I get it back!?

I think its missing one other Application and it has an extra icon for 'Contacts' which wasn't there before.

Ok I managed to get my photos app back by reinstalling then adding add the apps to one category then removing them, then uninstalling.. but now I have loads of apps which should be hidden.. demo apps etc.. how can I hide them again?

I added an update today that disables (by default) the option for categories to modify the display order to add or remove icons. With this disabled, it will no longer mess up your phone, but you will need to use customize to hide/unhide icons you add to categories. I put a configuration screen in and you can enable the option if you are ok with the risks until they are fixed. I installed Boss Tool on my 1.1.4 iphone
After clicking on free up space...I lost many icons from all of my pages...
Where did they go?
How can I find them?
I am not a programmer ... I just need some instructions on how to find all my "lost" apps (incl. boss tool). I suppose there were not uninstalled...just moved...but the icons moved also...So where can I find them and "show" them again on my screen?
