does everything putty does...except no need to use putty...its all done on the phone

im getting an error when i start terminal after the binkit install...

it says...bin\login- permission denied.

any ideas?

It sounds like you need to change that rights of the binaries that you added. Connect with ssh and go into your /bin folder and say "chmod 755 *" that will change them to allow you to execute them.

THANK YOU AntiFlash....was have'n this bug me for 2whole days... i used "installer" to up the bin but it was removed and call BSD something... so i had to manny the login still wouldnt work...so i juss got home frm work and read this and went back to my bin in my iPhone, i check everything... they were all set to 0755 but login was not....thanks

I'm seeing something very strange with the latest version of Terminal available from googlecode.
I can only type 3 characters then a newline is forced and it tries to run my 3 letter command.
I can't type more than 3 characters no matter what.

I reverted back to an earlier version of Terminal which did not help so I think something else is broke.

Anyone have any ideas???

im completely stumped when it comes to mobile terminal. can anyone dumb it down a little how to put custom images onto the phone from gimp on a windows computer

If you want too put custom images onto your phone from a Windows computer its MUCH easier to use WInSCP. Its a free download (Google for it) and then you access the iPhone's file system via wifi. You can get the iPhone wifi IP address from Settings, SBSettings, or a number of other apps. Say your wifi IP is 192.168.1.7, That is your "Host Name" for WinSCP. User name is "root" without the quotes. and Password is "alpine" again without the quotes. Then click "Login". The first login takes a long time- be patient. Sometimes it times out and you have to exit WinSCP and then open it again and try again. Once you login, you will see your iPhone files on the right side and your desktop files on the left side. Files can be moved back and forth between iPhone and PC by highlighting the file and pressing the F5 key.

Oh, for WinSCP to work you must have OpenSSH from Cydia installed on your iPhone.

Sorry to bring this up again but can someone please help me install a working mobile terminal on 3G 3.0? It crashes when I try to open it after installing from cydia. What is the latest version? I have 316s 7.

All mobile terminal did for me was when i was trying to add a note in the terminal to play a movie from piratebay, it SLOWED down my iphone and LAGGED so much! I had this problem before with my sisters iphone and my ipod touch! I don't think it's worth having mobile terminal, dtunes, and the free movies/music. Its all sites where you can go on megavids or whatever and watch them from your computer and just download music from limewire or something. I'm just frustrated and fed up with how every time I open up mobile terminal, it seems like it crashed my iphone/ipod touch or it lags so much that it takes nearly a minute for each action to occur...such as pressing an app icon to get into your mail or something. Can someone help with this issue? Anyone else has this issue?

Hey I'm using winspc I got all the information like my ip for host name and alpine for pass. Than it loggs in but not completly it says access denined and asks for a password. Alpine does not work any ideas?
