For a complete list: http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/Lis...taller_Sources

To install them all on your phone, install this source: ride4.org/shai.xml
Then install "All Sources"

You can add this link to your sources and it will add all of the sources that are out there. Of course there will be some that you don't want but you can just take them off.

Shai - don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to be rude. But why on Earth do you have 10 to 15 dead / down / consistently unreachable repos on your All Sources list? (See "Uncategorized Sources" and the many "Untitled Sources" beneath that.

I realize that someday some of these might come back online. But since you update your list so frequently why not leave them off the list until they're back on the air?

Sure would speed up refreshes...

myboot - thats a good question that I should have answered long ago so no worries. There are so many sources out there just managing the ones in the all sources package is a chore. I have to ssh into my phone via putty or terminal, manuall launch installer and watch the output one by one. Then write the script to remove the dead sources. After that then what? How do I check if those sources are back?

The problem isnt having too many sources, the problem is the way installer handles sources. For example, my source got messed up the other day because I left out a ">" on one of the lines. Yeah, stupid mistake on my part. But then when installer would get to my source it would hang. No error message on what the problem was, nothing, it just said "could not refresh...".

So again the problem is installer. If the source is dead or unresposive it should move on. If you look on the main installer.app page you'll see thats a bug they're aware of but dont fix. I'm trying to figure out a way to fix this, but till then, patience.

Thanks Shai. That totally makes sense. I will continue to use your All Sources and just delete the ones I don't need.
A few questions if you don't mind. The ones that come up Untitled under Uncategorized - they *are* dead or non-responsive correct?

And if so, do these only get tagged as such when they're first added as a source or do they auto-update their status in the installer sources list once they're finally reachable?

If dead is dead, then I will just delete them and the next time you update your All Sources list, if they're live again I will keep them.

there not dead, just inactive or have an error in them. A source could be up today and cause of a simple typo be down tomorrow, this is the reason why I dont remove any

I think that there should be a package which only installs all the "good" sources, only ones that have been tested.

Thats what the community sources is. problem is people have good sources and packages, but then maybe one day for some reason stop updating or theres an issue with their source or server.

People provide these sources free of charge to us. so we should be thankfull there even there
