I am just curious to know what is the use of the small icon (on the bottom right, shape of a car) for in the maps application on iphone? For me it is disabled. I am on ver 1.1.2. DOes anyone know what it is for and can it be anabled for its use?

Touch it to make it blue and look at highways. It shows you traffic conditions....blink red = traffic, yellow = so/so, green = smooth sailing!

For me when i touch on this icon, it show traffic condition on highways and freeways. Don't know how accurate it is but Weekdays peak hours i do see some area on BayArea, CA freeways and highways show red, now all those area are showing green.

no, it has nothing to do with the unlocking of your phone. Just that theres no traffic information available where you're looking. Mines disabled for where I am now, but when I''m in the NYC area I get info.

Thanks Beeks. I just tried some addresses in New York and walla. I can see the blue car icon enabled.
