Tethering App

First off, I admit I'm nobody. I don't do app development and probably never will. But I have a serious idea I'd like to share:

With all these guys making retarded applications that are good for nothing but eye candy (was we car guys call ricers), how about the developers put their skills together to develop and easy app to tether the iphone to a computer? It could be one app installed to iPhone, and another that is run from a WinXP machine to create the necessary changes on that machine too.

Just a thought. I hate to see so many people with such impressive skills all wasting it on junk.

I know it has already been done, but I wish there was a guide for the actual usage of the iphone as a wireless modem from windows. (vista specifically would be even nicer, although anything will be more than enough for me to figure out how it even works!)
