Summerboard themes & Customize icons - not working in 2 phones :(

I'm trying to get help. I'm running 1.1.1 on our 2 iPhones. Both are Jailbreaked and running everything fine except all I have are black backgrounds, and no option to change icons in Customize.

I have smbpref, bsd subsystem loaded and theme selected - but nothing works on either phone. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I had this working fine on 1.0.2

appologies - I needed to do a total re-start for it to work.
