    Default SSH Button

    Quick (Perhaps Dumb) Question:

I've finally been able to get 1.1.2 working on my iPhone... and when I was at the Jailbreak stage it asked me if I wanted install SSH... and I went with it cause the guide I was using said it would be a good idea...

now exactly what is this used for?

SSH is a service that provides encrypted communication between the iPhone and desktops over WiFi. You can use programs like WinSCP or Cyberduck to transfer files to/from the iPhone, or use a program like Putty to open a terminal session to your iPhone for command line hacking. Good for s/w development too.

Normally you want to turn SSH off since it uses power to run and it could allow someone to break into your phone if you don't change the root password.
