    Post [GUIDE] Upgrade 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 + Jailbreak + Activation + YouTube & Unlocking
Tested and working on iPhones Unlocked with (anySIM 1.1, with previously virginized baseband) iPhone with 1.1.1 firmware and 04.01.13_G modem, bootloader 3.9_M3S2, iTunes 7.5, and Windows Vista.

All those who've accidentally upgrade v1.1.1 to v1.1.2, please follow this guide: http://www.modmyi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19210

PLEASE READ EVERY STEP, ONE AFTER THE OTHER BEFORE DOING ANYTHING TO YOUR PHONE.

If you are locked on at&t don't use this guide.

Thanks to Dev Team, iPhone-Elite team, jjgsxr883, Hacktheiphone and callx for your work.

Before we begin, download the following:
Phase 1 :: Checking your bootloader version
For those of you who have owned an iPhone prior to November 9th, then you can skip this step. If you don't otherwise know any better, you might want to verify what bootloader you have on your iPhone right now.

First you will need to have bbupdater installed in your /usr/bin folder.
    - Use the Terminal to login to the iPhone via SSH
    OR
    - Use Mobile Terminal found under Installer > System > Term-vt100
    Enter the following commands:

    Code:
    launchctl remove com.apple.CommCenter
    bbupdater -v
Your results better match those below as far as the bootloader is concerned. If they don't, then DO NOT proceed!

    Resetting target...
    pinging the baseband...
    issuing +xgendata...
    firmware: DEV_ICE_MODEM_04.01.13_G
    eep version: EEP_VERSION:207
    eep revision: EEP_REVISION:8
    bootloader: BOOTLOADER_VERSION:3.9_M3S2
When you are done checking, restart your iPhone.

    Phase 2 :: Upgrade 1.1.1 to 1.1.2
    1. Install BSD Subsystem v1.5 via Installer (if exists, move to next step)
    2. Prepare your 1.1.1 device for the Update
      (I). Launch Installer.app
(II). Scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1)
      (III). Select OktoPrep
      (IV). Click Install
    3. Connect your phone to iTunes.
    4. Do either Download & Install or press SHIFT + Update button and point it to the v1.1.2 firmware you downloaded manually.
    5. Jailbreak 1.1.2
      - So, right now you should have a nice 1.1.2 activate screen talking in tongues. As a rule of thumb, just open iTunes and let it detect the iPhone then close it.
      - Now run windows.bat from the 1.1.2 jailbreak and check option Install ssh, change password if needed and click Jailbreak
      - Might take like 5-10 mins, more coffee maybe?

    Phase 3 :: Unlocking using anySIM1.2.1u
    1. Put your AT&T SIM in the phone OR your own SIM is fine.
    2. Run Installer and install BSD Subsystem 1.5
    3. Add modmyi.com/installer.xml to your Installer Sources.
    4. Install anySIM1.2.1u via the ModMyI.com installer category.
    5. Goto Settings > Switch ON Airplane mode.
    6. Goto Settings > General > Auto-lock change it to Never.
    7. Run anySIM
    8. After it shows the "Successfully unlocked message". Uninstall anySIM via Installer.
    9. Goto Settings > Switch OFF Airplane mode.

    Fix for Crashing phone/SMS *optional*
    - In Installer, look under Tweaks v1.1.2
    - Install iWorld select your country from the list and its done :-)
    Troubleshoot:
    - An unknown error occurred (1603)
    - An unknown error occurred (1)

For both the above cases Uninstall > reboot and re-install iTunes v7.5
To know the Change Log of v1.1.2 go here

Although i did not use this exact guide, the steps i use were very similar to the above. The only difference was i downgraded to 1.0.2 and ran anysim1.2 there instead of doing it at 1.1.1.

None the less it works and i am sitting at 1.1.2 fully unlocked on Rogers network.

oh and your Jailbreak + Activation + YouTube guide along with SMS & Mobile App crash fix

is pointing to the wrong jailbreak 1.1.2 . The one you linked says ispf only phones.

This is a quicker method to avoid the long process of Restoring, downgrading, unlocking, restoring and updating again to unlock 1.1.2 firmware.

IPSF is only used for Unlocking, over here are using anySIM. The jailbreak part is important in the guide.

No, because you are downgrading the firmware completely, leaving the modem firmware of v1.1.2 which has nothing to do with the .TIFF exploit patch.

I understand but the jailbreaking 1.1.2 guide you linked to above says to downgrade back to 1.1.1 and then back to 1.1.2 and then jailbreak 1.1.2. I just think that the downgrading back to 1.1.1 before jailbreaking 1.1.2 is not neccessary after you have done all the other downgrades anyways.

I am running 1.1.2 fully jail broken and unlocked so far no problems at all, all I did was first off oktoprep then upgrading to 1.1.2 by itunes then thinking i could use anySIM 1.2 used that to try and unlock my phone no bricked it so i did a DFU restore to 1.0.2 got an error after restore so after that I used Ibrickr to boot my phone up got a red screen and it booted from there went ahead and jailbroke it by using used wiNstaller to activate phone at 1.0.2 used AppTappInstaller to get anySIM over and unlocked my phone going from there i UPDATED using SHIFT UPDATE to 1.1.1 then goot an error tried to boot with ibrickrr got the green screen from there i had to do a SHIFT RESTORE with 1.1.1 again used ibrickr booted right up. From there I did the Wi Fi way to unlock 1.1.1 by going to jailbreakme.com did that and still at this point my phone was still unlocked to my t-mobile sim so got installer on there and got oktoprep installed and went on to doing a itunes update to 1.1.2. after that was all done I used the zip package 1.1.2-jailbreak.zip did windows.bat boom and boom I was using 1.1.2 fully unlocked and jailbroken took freaking forever though!! so much downgrading and such bah...and at the end when I was doing the windows.bat I ran out of disk space and the numbers just kept repeating them selfs...loll I freaked out it was great but anyways if anyone wants any help with trying to get 1.1.2 to work on their Iphone I'll be glad to help hit me up on AIM blitzx303. My iphone was bought 1.1.1 out of box

iDemocraty2 is that tool - But still in the progress - Anyway great tool and thanks to Darkenza
    --------
important if you are be on Modem FirmWare 04.02.13_G (check it on iPhone - Sttings/General/About - Scroll Down and you will see) [Because anySIM 1.2.1u works only with 4.02.13_G baseband]
Second - use installer to fetch and run OktoPrep (after taht you are ready to upgrade to 1.1.2)
When you are do the following things download this:
    Jailbreak Software 1.1.2 (NEW VERSION)
    --
DO NOT RUN anySIM 1.2 under 1.1.2. It will not work properly and you risk corrupting your baseband.
    --
    Frequently Asked Questions :

    1. when i click on windows.bat, the terminal opens and closes.

    Install Java Runtime

    2. How do I activate the phone if I am not on ATT?

the new jailbreak software does this automatically.
