Hi-

I used "iphoneunlockuk" and everything seems to work fine except for email and youtube! The instructions say once the phone is unlocked to launch youtube so it can update some kind of files (before switching SIM cards to use on another carrier (namely T-Mobile). Well when I attempnt to connect to youtube it says "cannot connect to youtube"-the instructions does not even mention this as a possiblity, wtf?

Then my email is totally screwed! Everytime I try to check my mail I get the following error message "cannot get mail the user name or password for imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect".

Neither one of these error messages are mentioned in their trouble shooting as a potential problem so this is really pissing me off big time.

Also, is there a way I can verify that indeed the phone was completely unlocked?

I would restore the phone back to factory 1.1.4 and then reunlock it with ether iliberty or winpwn.

Uhm I just spent almost 60 USA dollars for this software, I don't think so. Before I did this I asked on this forum about iliberty and people told me not to use it. This is why I chose to buy a program because no matter what free program I asked about, everyone told me not to use it. You just don't know what to do anymore with regards to this damn phone.

Haha well its alot easyer now to unlock them then back when i had my last iphone. My new one is coming this week and i will be using winpwn to unlock it. Id say give it a try. Ziphone will work for sure but it will also downgrade your bootloader so if you dont care about that stuff id say use ziphone.

I would just restore in itunes to 1.1.4 and setup as NEW.

Then jailbreak with either iliberty or winpwn on a pc

Or, pawnage tool on a mac

I use a mac and pawnage has been perfect. I also use the tmobile sim

Just because you paid for the software doesn't mean it's any good... it just means you got scammed because there are 4 or 5 tried and true FREE programs that work 100% of the time. iLiberty, iDemocracy, Ziphone, and Pwnage are among them. If i were you I would DFU restore to 1.1.4 and then use iLiberty (theiphoneproject) and use the integrated youtube fix and the other useful payloads/features.

Whats the difference between jailbreaking and unlocking?
Should I do one or the other...or both?
