o2 contract and MMS

Has anyone managed to buy a phone on o2 contract in the UK and use MMS?

i jailbroke & unlocked it and managed to send pic msgs while in germany on vodafone.

I've just phoned up o2 and said i have a second phone that i was gona put my sim in - they asked for the make and model.
But they basiclly said, if i put my sim in another phone and send a pic msg, then the mms would be det up automatically.
I tried this and it didn't work.

Is it worth phoning o2 and saying look i have an iphone and it can send pic msgs?
