Default Sliding icons up and down

I saw in one of the Diggnation videos, Kevin Rose was sliding his icons up and down and I think he said "that's springboard". I thought that looked cool. When I got my iPhone yesterday I only found summerboard which said it was an update to springboard, so I installed that and the icons only slide left/right, like two pages. Is there an option I'm missing somewhere or can you not do the up/down anymore?

the up and down scrolling was a feature of the old summerboard (for firmware 1.0.2), there currently isnt a way to do it in 1.1.1

not missing much; this summerboard is much better and well-integrated. the old one created considerable lag when switching apps, and the up/down scrolling did not snap well at the bottom.

honestly.. it is better with the Left to right.. there was a little show to it.. but it's definately more usable expeciallif you have even like 6+ extra apps ( which most people do)
