Yup, the same thing happened to me
i had to do the hard reset as well, lost everything.
im trying to find some good back-up programs so it keeps a copy on my computer.ideas anyone??

itunes backs up all of your important info like contacts/photos. you can restore those back onto your phone after restoring/rejailbreaking/reunlocking.

just the hassle of doing this + installing all of the useful apps again, takes time.
