While DVD quality is overstating it a bit, version 1.1.4 is quite useable to me. I guess it's a question of expectations to some degree, but I'm really surprised that people aren't more excited by this. We've been hearing promises for MONTHS from 2 companies claiming that their product is right around the corner, and here's a guy that has actually produced a working program. Sure it needs improvement, but I think it's a fantastic start.

i didnt mean to be harsh seeing how this is an early apps release but stating DVD quality shouldnt be said by the dev. I will probably get this when the bugs are worked out. good work though

well the poc and ideas were released in dec, so my new app shouldnt matter about giving credit. but it doesnt matter.. alot of developers just take from others and dont give them the credit thats due. it doesnt really matter.. im actually glad someone finally released a video app so people can lay off me while i get it polished up and released.

id like to think so.. they both do the same thing as far as capturing and encoding video. his app the final video has some dead space around it mine doesnt. mine also have other features, id i like my ui better. but im not trashing his app.. its pretty good. i wouldnt buy it tho.

For me - video quality is acceptable. There is something wrong with white balance (movie is a little too dark and colors too red). Both in playback and in emailed movie.
Sound quality is unacceptable - really can not hear too much if speaking from 20cm distance. Both in playback and in emailed movie.
Program doing something wrong with sound system parameters - it is needed to load iPod to reset strange sound settings after playback.
Emailing works flawless.
Interface needs correctives - playback mode special.
Free 30sec movie time is acceptable.
What is directory, where movies are saved? Can you add movies to iPod database to be back-synced into iTunes?
Anyway thanks!

Yeah, for what is available now, this is better than Showtime. I do like the way uShow looks from the screenshots though, definitely much more polished.
I think its pheasible to say that more than one person can come to the same conclusion when it comes to how the video is recorded, hats off to Drunk however for figuring it out first.
