Follow the guide in my sig that is for customize, instead of doing customize commands and such, replace it with the make it mine commands.

or you could simply just replace the FSO_CARRIER and Default_CARRIER png files in your
/System/Library/Carrier Bundles folder.

You just replace it with the png file of your name or whatever image you want. Here is a thread for requesting carrier icons and such.

I am still confused with that. I have SCP downloaded. I have 2.0.0B downloaded. After I unzip customize 2.0.0B4.tar.gz, it turns into customize.tar? is that correct?
I can interface the iphone with SCP. I am not sure what's next...as to what file needs to b replaced.. can u please make it clearer

No, you should unpack that second .tar and I think you should find a folder in there, then you put it on your phone in the applications directory then respring your springboard and it should be there.

If you only want to put your name as carrier then and you don't have make it mine in your installer----
go to iappcat.com, create account(follow directions), search make it mine, put it in your repo, then follow the directions to add your repo to installer...... And done. No need to ssh

Here's what you want, I think:
1) SSH into your iPhone with WinSCP with this guide:
http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/SSH_on_Windows

2) Put the MIM.app folder (from inside MMI.zip) in the /Applications folder of your phone.
3) Go into the folder, right-click "makeitmine", and change the octal to 0755.
4) Reboot your phone and enjoy.
