Anyone else have a Playlist problem after syncing?

This problem started after upgrading to 1.1.4.
I have a playlist that I listen to randomized. Once I pick it, I can use the headphones to start and stop it all day and it continues were it left off just fine.
But as soon as I sync the phone, (not changing anything in playlist or in mp3s), when I hit the headphones button, it starts playing the entire collection in linear order.
It VERY annoying since I used to just plug my headphones in, hit the power button, hit and headphone button, and I was good listening to what I needed. Now, I have to take it out, slide the slider, hit ipod, goto playlist, pick the playlist, pick randomize, but the iphone back... a real hassle.
This used to happen in 1.0.2 so I don't think its a firmware problem per-say, more like a permission problem, maybe?
Any ideas?
