No sound after installing an application?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before, but I've searched and I'm just looking for a bit of assistance. After I installed a specific application, my sounds from my iPhone disappeared. I don't hear the click when I lock my iPhone or unlock it, and when I try to play a song in iTunes, the song will never play, it just sits there at 0:00 however the play button changes to a pause button. Maybe I installed a certain application or whatever, but does anyone know of a fix I can use instead of restoring everything on my iPhone?

try resetting your device in in settings/general/reset
