Syphone cannot sync? how to back the db?

I managed to sync once with syphone a few months ago and when I tried to sync another time yesterday, it just cannot detect my phone at all.

I am thinking maybe I will backup the current database and have a fresh-install

anyone have experience on how to fix that??

And does that only sync all the file in my iphone? how about some SMS that I already sync last time then I deleted it on my iphone, will those still in the databse??
