MyWi 6 On Demand IOS 6.1.2 Not working Iphone 4s and Ipad 2

I have a Ipad 2 and Iphone 4s Both on IOS 6.1.2 . I can not get on demand to start the Ipad without either hitting the power button to put it to sleep and hitting the button again or turn on airplane mode then turn off airplane mode or turn wireless off then turn wireless back on to start the negotiation process over on the Ipad 2. Once you have done one of three things On demand works. Just annoying to have to turn on then turn off then back on to connect. I have reloaded IOS and I have reset network settings. I have also reset all settings. I have restarted both devices. Any other suggestions to get this to connect on the first try?
