MyWi does not display tethering bar when using usb tethering

I am using MyWi 4.0 on the Iphone 4 iOS 4.3.3. When I am using usb tethering, the tethering bar only appears when MyWi is in the foreground, when I close MyWi, the tethering bar disappears. This behaviour does not exists when I am using bluetooth tethering or Wifi tethering. Is this a bug?
