Upgrading iOS to use MyWii with consoles

Hi everyone,

So yeah, I'm new to MyWi and it's AMAZING!
I mostly got it to be able to play my 3DS and PSP while I'm away from home, but I was dissapointed to find that on iOS 4.2.1 that's not possible

I then read on the FAQs that "on iPhone 4 with iOS 4.2.6+, MyWi 4.0 can create an infrastructure mode network."

As I'm such a 'n00b' I'm wondering what is the best and most importantly safest way to upgrade my iPhone from 4.2.1 to 4.2.6 or above? I'm using greenp0ison if that helps?
