MyWi w/OnDemand (questions)
(1) to use the OnDemand feature, does the iPad need to be jailbroken with OnDemand as well? [can't get it to bluetooth pair with the iPad]
(2) does bluetooth tethering work with other iOS devices? or only with computers? [I was able to get it to pair with my MBA, but not my iPad via bluetooth tethering]
(3) assuming 3G data stream is constant, does it matter what method of tethering you use? wifi / bluetooth / USB
(4) if you have the skype app installed on the iPad (though it's not designed for the iPad), and you bluetooth tether it (or OnDemand) to the iPhone, can you make video calls out of skype?
(5) will the WPA option that's new in 4.60.3 only show in the interface for those on AT&T if they're on iOS 4.3 or higher? [I don't see the options in 4.2.1]

All I know is you have to have mywi on both devices. Good thing you only have to pay once.

1) Yes - both have to be jailbroken (as gary86 mentions, MyWi needs to be on both = Jailbroken

2) BT Tethering works with computers/other devices (but not iOS devices). MyWi OnDemand is a variant of it for iOS devices (w/ addl features)
3) As far as speed - USB will likely have a small edge over the other 2 as there's less wireless components (~10% perhaps). As far as WiFi vs Bluetooth, max Bluetooth speed is ~1.6 mb/s where as the latest MyWi with 80211.n (iPhone4/4.2.6+ only), you can hit speeds up to 65mb/s. Of course, your 3G is probably about .8 - 1.4mbs so WiFi and bluetooth will end up being very similar data rates (for our experience/testing). As far as energy consumption - USB will draw from your laptop and power your iPhone, WiFi will use the most battery, and Bluetooth much less then WiFi.
4) Yes - OnDemand is similar to your 3G connection
5) Yes - WPA, Infrastructure, and SBSettings toggle is only available on 4.3+ if you have a GSM iPhone 4. (this is a limitation of the WiFi firmware

actually, two more questions

(1) will location data be passed onto the iPad when bluetooth tethered (using OnDemand)?
(2) If FaceBreak was installed on the iPad 2, and you were using OnDemand, would FaceTime always be 'active' on the iPad 2 (as long as the iPhone is nearby, and on)?

I have a PPTP VPN on my iPhone. Is there anyway to launch it first and send my entire connection through it?

Good post. I was wondering about this. +1.
Here is the question though. Do you need MyWi if you are using a 30 pin male to 30 pin male from iPad to Iphone AND......does anyone know where to get a 30 pin male to 30 pin male cable.
My iPad 2 is coming in tomorrow and I would love to tether it. Needless to say, If MyWi is needed on the iPad, I am going to have to wait for the JB.
Anyone want to chime in ?
Thanks
