MyWi on demand crashes iPhone
Hello,
I have installed 4.52.2 on both my iPhone and iPad. Both the iPad and iphone 4 are running iOS 4.2.1.
When I turn on my iPad, it makes a connection with the iPhone via bluetooth without issue. Unfortunately, the iPhone will spontaneously restart while transferring data to the iPad. This happens about 40% of the time. I will look over and see the boot logo on the iPhone...
Both devices used greep0ison to jailbreak. Is there anyone else having this issue? Is there any other information I can provide to help? Other installed apps? Logs?
Regards,
Ken

Not having this issue, but it may just be because of the OnDemand feature. What happens if you try the connection as only a WiFi hotspot instead of OnDemand?

My iPhone's rebooting/crashing with MyWi now too!
This is *exactly* what is happening to me as well. It's really frustrating.
I have legitimate, paid-for copies of MyWi and the MyWi OnDemand license from Cydia. Both my iPad and iPhone 4 are now running 4.2.1 and I have started experiencing the spontaneous reboots with this latest update as well. I only use the bluetooth tethering now because unfortunately the wifi hotspot feature only seems to work with an unencrypted network to tether to the iPad; the iPad doesn't seem to be able to connect with an encrypted network setup, so switching to unencrypted wifi is not a solution at the moment. If anyone figures out what the problem is, or hears from Intelliborn, I would love to know how to fix this. Every time I see the spontaneous crash my heart stops because I fear the boot loop (a nightmare I've experienced more than once, although not yet from MyWi).
Also, if anyone knows how to get an encrypted wifi network using MyWi to work with iPhone to iPad tethering, that would be an OK workaround for now too . . . thanks!

I have legitimate, paid-for copies too on my iPhone 4 and iPad both are running 4.2.1, mywi wifi is running fine here with WEP 10 bits key. Mywi on demand is not working well 2 times out of 3 it will reboot my iPhone. It was doing this even before the last up date. I m using Mywi since 3.0 version. They do update their product I hope they will fix this issue soon I do love this On demand feature if it can work right, i didn't recommend it to my friends for the time being, I certainly will when it will work right.

I have the same issue. On demand iPhone 4 to iPad. It seemed to work fine initially, but now I get spontaneous iPhone reboots after any session more than a couple of minutes long. The problem started close to the time I installed bt stacks on the iPad in order to connect an external gps. Since it is on the iPad, I don't see how that could cause the iPhone to act up. I love the app, so any fix would be appreciated.

Hi,
Sorry, yes it is a reboot, not just a crash.
Here are conditions:
- MyWi OnDemand 4.60.5 on both iPad 4.2 and iPhone 4 4.1.2.
- Turn on iPad and allow automatic tether via MyWi ondemand
- begin streaming from YouTube or any video app or website
- usually within 10 minutes we will see iPhone 4 reboot
- did not notice any issues with limited tests done when iPhone 4 was connected to power source
Thanks.

More information:
Just had a crash/reboot again without streaming any video or sustained high bandwidth usage. Just turned iPad on, browsed a few pages, and iPhone rebooted itself.
