MY3G and FACETIME

With the recent release of the iPhone 4 jailbreak, I was extremely excited to start using FaceTime over 3G by utilizing my3G. I even remember reading a tweet from Rock when my3G was made iOS4 compatible that said something like (I'm paraphrasing), "Will work great with FaceTime!"

I got everything set up, and lo and behold, no dice. The Phone app is not listed in my3G's app list and even when I set it to fool ALL APPS across the board, it still will not let me make a FaceTime call without a wifi network.

Is there something I'm doing wrong that is disallowing this? Perhaps something I'm not doing that I should be doing? Or do we need an update for my3G, stat? This is definitely a big selling point for my3G so let's hope this gets resolved soon.

If there's anyone who's had success with this, please chime in!

Should be good when they do. I was able to use fring for video chat to a computer with skype in the brief window before skype pulled fring's access and it worked fairly well.

I also tried it with the 3g unrestrictor that has the phone app, and it still didn't work I hope they have an update soon for this!!

What did you update and which version do you have?

Did you get it off of Cydia or RockMe?

Ive got 3gunrestrictor but currently it doesnt support facetime. Is there any news on the no-rock version of my3g yet? I will never install rock again after it trashed my old 3gs a few times. I have a 4 now and wont take that chance!

Rock is fast but it trashed too many of my setups.

I'll play with FaceTime on 3G when its in cydia

No bueno for me either. Tried, didnt work. Phones right next to eachother full bars.

updated to new my3g just using trial. one phone works other doesn't any ideas?

I was having the same problem as many of you. What I found is this was because I hadn't logged into Rock and transfer my license over from my prior 3gs. Once I did this it seems to work great! I hope this helps.

When I try to transfer the license it throws the message "Err # 1928: Your license transfer has failed. Please contact Rock Support".

How did you transfer the License - it didnot allow to use my old RockID on a new Device

Honestly mine was easy. I just had to log in and everything else was done. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I know enough just to make me dangerous. Still learning.

This may sound like a really stupid question but I'll ask anyway. If just put my3g on my phone which makes the phone think I'm using wifi ? That's my understanding of it anyway. Here goes the stupid bit. Does it make o2 think I'm using wifi aswell getting round the problem of my 750mb data limit which I've at least doubled in the last two weeks. ??

No it will not fool O2. but that would be a nice app to have

Sorry but nope. It actually ends up making you use more bandwidth from your provider because it lets apps use higher bandwidth because they think they are on wifi.

In cydia it keeps saying I have an update for My3G to version 4.21 what is the latest and if I already have it why does it keep showing up in cydia and not in Rock
