I'm so stressed!!!

Ok so i've got the 1st gen IPhone 16gb, firmware 2.1 (5f136). It's been jailbroken and unlocked etc... The IPhone is American and im in the UK.

I was charging my phone via my pc (xp) and recieved a call. I answered and by accident pulled my IPhone out from the usb cable. Now, i cant access all my songs and when in sync via itunes, all thats is showed is around 4gb of other content.

I know the songs are still there coz through mobilefinder, i can see them in my library.

What i need to do is, either convert them back to music files or, erase them all and resync my songs all over again.

I'm kinda scared of erasing all content and setting because twice now, i've attempted to restore the iphone and have failed thus, having to take it to the shop and being charged £30 each time to restore it back to normal.

So if anyone has used this function, please kindly tell me exactly what it does before i attempt anything and if anyone has any other solution i will appreciate it.
