Meet the Staff: Cer0 / Erik "still in progress"
Meet the Staff is a new series which, over the next few weeks, will be highlighting ModMyi.com's awesome staff. Hopefully this well let our readers and members get to know us a little better by learning a bit more about our staff's wealth of crazy and fun people.
So far we have covered 7 amazing and spectacular people that really put their blood, sweat, and tears into running this wonderful site. Cody Overcash, Kyle Matthews, Broomhead, Simon, thetoothfairy, i.Annie, and blkcadi
Logan - Tell us a little about yourself. Your age, location, education, and what you want to be when you grow up?
Erik - My name is Erik. I am 28 and live in Wisconsin just across the border from Minnesota. I spend more time in Minnesota because I work on that side. I grew up in several small towns on the west side of Oklahoma. I moved to upstate New York when I was 18 then moved to Minnesota at 19. I got married this year to a wonderful woman. On October 25th she was diagnosed with Leukemia. I have never seen her stronger. And it has showed me even more that even though my life has been filled with choices that may seem wrong or blindly followed those choices has lead me to find her in time. As Steve Jobs once said "..you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever." I have an Associate’s degree in business. I was working on a Bachelor’s degree in information technology with a focus on networking but decided to take a break. I am not 100% sure what I want to do when I grow up. I just want to be involved in technology in some way. I am always interested in technology and new things. Mainly love seeing where the world is heading in terms of technology.
Logan - How'd you first get involved with the MMi community? How long have you been apart of MMi?
Erik - I have been a lurker of MMi since the near the start. Not sure how I found it but didn’t get around to registering till 2008. I may have found MMi because I was looking at what more I could do with the iPhone. I was all about using modified roms for my Windows phones so I was very interested in finding what people have done with the iPhone when I got it.
As far as how long I've been involved...I don't know! I guess look at my profile to see when I became a member! Well, I was pretty much just leeching off of free help here on MMi with my own stuff and not really posting for the first few months, but then I got more involved after maybe 3 or 4 months after joining.
Logan - What devices do you own? Is their one can't wait to get?
Erik - I have had the 2G, 3GS, i4, iPad 1, AppleTV 1, and AppleTV 2. I always want to get each new device that comes out but I always run into that issue of money; even more so when the timing fights with my gaming “addiction”.
Logan - What Cydia/Apple tweaks/applications can you not live without?
Erik - At the moment I am not jailbroken because I have to shut down my phone to often to use a tethered jailbreak. When it is jailbroken I love Remove Background and OpenNotifier.
Logan - What do you think of the new iOS5 and iPhone 4S
Erik - Each time Apple releases a new iOS version it is always a great move forward to give users what they want. 5.0 brought a ton of great features that I enjoy greatly; which helps a little more when waiting for an untethered jailbreak.
Logan - If you could be any super hero who would it be and why?
Erik - Audie Murphy; he may not be a super hero but comes close to a real life one. Everything he did within his life from trying to get his siblings a home to putting up the biggest fight he could, multiple times, in his military career was amazing.
Logan - I know you a big book reader, whats your favorite book and why?
Erik - I enjoy anything by Chuck Palahniuk. He has a way of putting random extra details into his book. He also stays on the odd style. His style is not really for the younger audience. Actually many adults may not enjoy his style of books. The one I enjoy the most is a tie between Choke and Lullaby. He is known more for his book that was adapted to movie The Fight Club.
Look for the rest of the crew to come with in the next few days here on ModMyi!!!

I do love the interweb.
I have been surprised a lot recently.
My preconceptions have been turned on their head.
Dealing with people online is great - you don't know who they are and vice verca. People judge mw by what I contribute and i do the same to them. online people don't know I'm a BLOPFABATINHe who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

I think he does look like that actor man! Handsome! You and I share the same view of technology. I also enjoy seeing technology advance and am always excited to see what technological advances are made. It just gets better and better.

Good to meet you Erik. Thanks for sharing! (nice set up behind you... Is that home or work?... Or both?)
Btw Erik - IMHO - you look like the sidekick actor in Die Hard 4.
