Meet the Staff: Annie /i.Annie
Meet the Staff is a new series which, over the next few weeks, will be highlighting ModMyi.com's awesome staff. Hopefully this well let our readers and members get to know us a little better by learning a bit more about our staff's wealth of crazy and fun people.
So far we have covered 4 amazing people that really put their blood, sweat, and tears into running this wonderful site. Cody Overcash, Kyle Matthews, Broomhead, Simon, and thetoothfairy
Logan - Tell us a little about yourself. Your age, location, education, and what you want to be when you grow up?
Annie - Well my name is Annie, I am 23 years old and live in beautiful state of Ohio. I go to college full time. What do I want to be when I grow up? A really rich woman. Lol, well that's partially true. I'd like to live comfortably and hopefully achieving Radiology Assistant status and getting my Comp Info Sys degree will happen ASAP! Shoot me over 100K a year.
Logan - How'd you first get involved with the MMi community? How long have you been apart of MMi?
Annie - I got my first iPhone ever, it was an iPhone 3G, a couple months after it first came out. It was awesome, and it was more awesome when I discovered about jailbreaking. Someone said to me, hey did you know you can put themes on your iPhone? I was like heck yeah that's cool I'm going to go figure out how to do it lol. I was never one to say okay I'm gonna go pay someone else to do it because personally, I find myself relatively technologically savvy. Anyhow, I also figured out I could unlock it for T-Mobile so I did that too. From then on, I just kept an interest in it as the iPhone OS advanced further and further.
I found ModMyi and discovered after all the research I've done on my own, I knew plenty to help others achieve the happiness I did with jailbreaking my phone. I also have this thing for fixing things (ie troubleshooting) so I liked to help other people when their iPhones didn't work the way they're supposed to. Then I went post crazy and the lovely blkcadi brought me to this wonderful ModMyi family that I've come to love to see as much as I can!
As far as how long I've been involved...I don't know! I guess look at my profile to see when I became a member! Well, I was pretty much just leeching off of free help here on MMi with my own stuff and not really posting for the first few months, but then I got more involved after maybe 3 or 4 months after joining.
Logan - What devices do you own? Is their one can't wait to get?
Annie - I'm an Apple fangirl but the issue is, I'm not a rich one (yet). So I have a 2010 (Oct model) MBP and an iPhone 4. I have an iPod nano 5th gen that I don't use (bc I have an iPhone...) and I used to have an iPod Touch 2G (sold it).
What can't I wait to get? Um...every possible Apple product in existence (except for the iPod/iPT line lol, don't need those). J/k, actually, I want a new MBP 2011 (with an i5 processor, I just have the dual core 2) or an new MBA 13" 2011. I haven't decided which one yet, but I can't have both lol. I'm not dying for the iPhone 4S but am anticipating next year's iPhone. That's the one I really want...because it will likely have a new body and of course it'll be even faster and better than the 4S!
Logan - What Cydia/Apple tweaks/applications can you not live without?
Annie - Let's see... Tetherme, Multifl0w, Winterboard, Dreamboard, SBSettings (this one is probably number one of all time), and...I'm sure there's a lot more but those are probably the ones that stand out the most because I remember them now haha.
Logan - What do you think of the new iOS5 and iPhone 4S
Annie - I think iOS 5 is sweet. I haven't gotten around to really knowing it yet (just updated early this week and having this darn semi-tethered jb...) so I can't say much about it yet. But I know that it's got some cool new things so far that I really like. The new notification center is nice, and the new welcome screens, the wireless syncing sounds great (haven't tried it yet though), and so far everything is pretty great. As for the iPhone 4S, I can't say much about it. Siri is hilarious from what people have posted online lol, but Siri, 8mpx cam, and an A5 chip isn't reason enough for me to spend my cash on a non-discounted iPhone. It's totally worth it to me when 1) the body has a new look 2) the internal hardware is improved and 3) I am eligible for discounted pricing lol.
Logan - If you could be any super hero who would it be and why?
Annie - JEAN GREY, need I say more? I have dreams about moving things with my mind lol! Maybe that's the lazy side of me talking, I mean who wants to stand up to get a beer or grab the remote? Oh, and of course I'd love to save a poor little doggy running across the street about to get run over by a crazy hooligan driving 75 mph down the city streets, with telekinesis.
Look for the rest of the crew to come with in the next few days here on ModMyi!!!

i.Annie is kickass! I'll be completely honest here, I never knew she was a staff member until just now. I've asked her countless questions and she's always very quick to reply with an answer that is incredibly helpful. I'm sorry I didn't know that you were staff . Seriously though, great staff pick. She is always willing to help and never give you any attitude or make fun of you if you don't understand how to do something. A lot of iExperts think and act like helping somebody who isn't as knowledgable is a great time to make fun of them, treat them like they're stupid, and even run them through steps that really screws up their iDevice because they find it funny. I won't mention any names (nobody from MMI) but a lot of them exist in irc rooms. Well Annie isn't like that and in the 4 years I've been messing around with iPhones she is the first person I have found that is really willing to help and teach you what you want and or need to know. I've said it in quite a few posts in the past but again, thanks i.Annie for all of your help.
I'm a fan!
