That sucks. We know what they are trying to do has no legal grounds and if you guys were to fight it, you would win. Problem is the money spent on lawyers and what not on MMi's part would not be worth it.

Good Work!
I'm glad you guys are hanging in there! Keeping this site running... its exposure is so big already nothing will stop your traffic as long as quality products continue to be updated and produced!
P.S. I had a great time breaking my first iphone last night! Thanks to the current technique on www.hackthei"f"one.com ("f" = ph)... not cool
... The WinSCP in step Two would not connect... so I got creative; My bad. Got a new phone with no problem though!
Here's the secret and a quick way to make your ifone unidentified/unsyncable by any computer. This will cause lost communication to the device via usb connection:
Delete all the visible "Hack" applications from your springboard... so it looks normal/stock. (DO THIS FIRST)
Now use "ibrikr" or other upload program to upload the file called " lockdownd" to the propper directery from the "lockdownd patched 1.1.1" directory provided in the rar file from www.hackthei"f"one.com. ("f" = ph) (as provided in the October 30th, 2007 technique for unlocking in step 1)
Make an appointment at your nearest apple store. (You must be using an AT&T Sim for service)
Tell them that it won't sync... They will try and it won't work for them either. They can't tell that you hacked it! ha ha ha. There is a fair chance your Youtube and e-mail will also stop working.
Finally, Just play the stupid card... say "It won't sync" and Bam... a new phone in just moments!
Good luck with your broken ifones and your new ones too!

I'm pretty sure that cash and pf said they consulted multiple lawyers. I know nothing in this situation about legal **** and that's why I don't make $160-200+ an hour but seriously people who the hell would want to spend money when all you do is get a new domain name. It makes sense that people think that they have the "balls" to fight a huge corporation but lets see what you think about it when you no longer have a house to live in or a car because you think that you can still win?? It's not about win or lose here at least to me. Things like this can take up a lot of court time which is cash money.
I'm just glad I found this website to begin with.Last edited by cruid; 10-31-2007 at 04:12 PM.

I don't care what Apple does or Microsoft does they will never ever ever be able to stop people from hacking, changing or cracking their products... there are more people in this world that have more brains than they ever will......

This is only minor; Apple's next business move will cripple us all, most likely, maybe something worse than 1.1.1.... Live in fear iPhone modders, we may not see spring if things get any worse...

twitter.com/dale1vMicrosoft owns the internet through Hotmail. The .HTML is short for Hotmail, so all .HTML files are MS files.

This is stupid. They can't take away from our thunder though. This site is already known to be one of the greatest iPhone modding authorities out there. A domain change will not change the total users, hackers, and plain aficionados out there. I think that apple wants to just dissimilate this site from anything to do with their product, which, is sad because this site is probably the sole reason that many consumers actually purchase the iPhone!
I'm an example of that! The more I read on this site, the more that I want the mobile! Though I don't need to unlock it, I just had thought that it was a waste. But not now. Long live this site, it's modders and everything that goes into it!
