Default iCloud Services Go Down Again

iCloud services have one again faltered, marking the latest incident in a series of recent outages that have hobbled iMessage and FaceTime.

On Tuesday morning, however, the global outage seemed to primarily impact Mail, Find My iPhone, and Find My Friends. Similarly, users trying to hook up with iCloud.com only found a "Connection Error" message in return. "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server," the message read.

As of noon EST, a number of users reported that their services had begun working normally once again. Nonetheless, today's service-related issues underscore ongoing problems for Apple's iCloud.

Just four days ago, Apple's iCloud-based email service was down for more than 24 hours before functionality was restored. Although Apple has confirmed the existence of recent issues impacting related services, the company hasn't provided ample details or any clues with regard to how soon these frequent outages will be curtailed.

I noticed these outages myself... Kinda annoying that Apple doesn't have a backup plan.

They must be working on some base-layer upgrades for iOS 7 that are causing these outages. That's my guess.

Glad I don't pay for iCloud. Hopefully they up the free capacity from 5GB to something better like 10 or 25GB.
