No, they are all carrier locked, factory unlocked 5's should be available by mid October.

Incorrect. The Verizon iPhone 5 is unlocked. You can even grab an AT&T nano SIM and put in it and it will work.
Not a waterboy for Android OR Apple.

    Wrong!!!
You dont have to exactly sign up as long as you bought it on an account. So if you have a buddy that has a verizon account you could buy it under his name out right.

Uh, yeah. Can you just go into AT&T and just buy a phone without getting it activated? I don't know about going into an Apple store to do it (nearest one is over 2.5 hour drive from here).

So technically I was correct, but as you and 2K like to say, "there is a reach around" huh?

So do you not then see the issue with your suggestion if someone doesn't want to sing up with Verizon?

    Unlocked Verizon iPhone 5

I've seen that the Verizon iPhone 5 supposedly comes out the box unlocked & seen it working on AT&T but wanna know if it has SDVO capabilities. If it don't, there's no reason to go they all that trouble
