Why no news coverage of Geohot PS3 lawsuit?
Hey, MMI staff writers, why is there no coverage on the Sony lawsuit against Geohot's latest jailbreak of the PS3? This is huge news.
Why was jailbreaking the PS3 legal in the European courts back in December 2010 and not here? Apparently, it is legal for individuals to jailbreak their own PS3 device but illegal to distribute tools to jailbreak the PS3 to the community.
Could the outcome of this Sony lawsuit against jailbreaking the PS3 affect our rights to jailbreak our Apple iDevices? Does the previous EFF ruling still protect our Apple jailbreaking rights or did Sony just open a big crack in this?
I would love to hear what the MMI community has to say on these points and any others. Whether you love or hate Geohot, this stinks for our rights to jailbreak our devices, Apple or Sony.

Because Playstation 3 has no relevance to an i device forum.
Geohot does but you wouldn't post this on a PS3 forum if there was a lawsuit against him from apple

You completely miss the point that I was trying to make. I wasn't asking people to comment on the legality of jailbreaking the PS3 or it being big news, but on how this could possibly affect our future rights to jailbreak our Apple iDevices.
By the way, there are now news postings on this subject, so there is relevance to this subject in the MMI forums.Could the outcome of this Sony lawsuit against jailbreaking the PS3 affect our rights to jailbreak our Apple iDevices? I wasn't missing the point, I was just saying it's about a PS3 so no relavance to iDevices. It's not that big for this forum that's why it's to two days to be posted, if it was big news and had more relevance then we would be the first to know. I agree that the JB has relevance, but IMO apple have given up caring and I don't think Sony will get anywhere either.

I would say it's relevant being that they are talking about confiscating his computers. Those computers probably have critical idevice jailbreak data on them

Makes me wonder too. They write about Windows Phone 7 so it's definitely ok to write about the guy who first jailbroke the iPhone.
