FaceTime for the iPhone should be free because it is something apple has made and is controlling. For the iPod Touch FaceTime is free and I could prove it. For the iPhone not so much. Many believe that FaceTime is free which there is a 60% chance that it is free. There is a 40% chance that AT&T is charging money for FaceTime and giving part of the profits to Apple. Even doing FaceTime with an iPod user could cost you some paper. Please notify me if I am wrong. My only source is from friends and personel experience. Ok first off your wrong completely. It's a wifi only service unless your using a app like fring. Which in that case your using data but still not paying anymore money unless you go over your data plan. And nothing is going to apple after the purchase of phone other then if u pay for apps. So you have been completely miss informed. FaceTime is a completely free service. If you can show me legitiment proof that you are getting charged for using facetime then maybe but I dont think u will be able too.
