Don't download. Its the exploit from Greenpois0n, it was apparently stolen, and is not designed for older devices. Check the twitters.

I just downloaded it, scanned for viruses, etc and THAT part seems to be OK according to McAfee, updated just BEFORE the download. I'm funny like that.

Source? Its not the exploit, MuscleNerd et al have been saying so for the last few days.

EDIT: Just worked out what you meant: The untethering exploit is the same one, made by Comex. And yeah, it was used without permission, but Comex has now given the go ahead, so it can be implemented properly or something. - The actual bootrom exploit (the more important one really) is not the same one.

I just used it an can confirm it worked beautiful on my ipod touch 4g. No problems what so ever.
I've got feedback it worked on other devices aswell.

tried it on my ipod touch 3g and it works. check out twitter p0sixninja is really mad for it's release. he shouldnt be cuz limera1n supports some older devices like my 3g ipod touch while gp was only for 4th gen devices.

Limera1n has been reported "buggy". Use at your own risk, it is in BETA.

It's confirmed that it does not work on iPod Touch 2G, iPhone 3G, and new boot 3GS. There have been some reports of a stable functional jb on old boot 3GS and iP4, and some reports of inability to load Cydia or jb properly. The results are mixed.

Just remember, it's in beta and the devs are working to implement GeoHotz exploit into GP in the upcoming days. Use at your own risk and happy jb

SHAtter is not fake, it is 100% real. GeoHot's exploit only came to light in the past few days (he had been working on it privately, and mentioned it once or twice, but there was no sign of a release)
